MID-CENTURY MODERN ADAPTIVE REUSE

Spring 2009                                Duration: 10 week term

Utilizing the modern order that Pietro Belluschi established in the US Motorbank Building, the new addition inserts itself and complements the existing structure through simple massing and architectural articulation. With response to the urban context the building echoes the scale of the surrounding buildings and brings life to the surrounding street and neighborhood.  As a testament to 21st century, the design integrates new building technologies and sky gardens that bring a new dynamic to the typical office floor plan.
